When I used to teach Decision Theory at a major university, I taught my students that they needed to "Post Audit" their decision so that they could learn not to make the same mistakes again. In this blog I will show that our government needs to do the same thing.
Think about when you learned how to ride a bike or catch a ball when you were a kid. How did you do it? If you think about it, you "Post Audited" your earlier attempts to determine what "mistake" you made. To learn the correct way, you had to make sure that you did not make the same "mistake" again and the only what that you knew the "mistake" was that you made the "Post Audit". Now that you have a better understanding of the value of a "Post Audit", let's shift to our government.
It has to be clear that with our National Debit of over $110,000 per man, women and child that we have spent too much in the past. The big question is, "Were all those over expenditures really worth it?" We know that some were not. How about all the money we spent in places like Afghanistan and Iraq or what we are now sending in the Ukraine? Unless we demand a "Post Audit". how will we ever know or learn anything from our past mistakes?
Our government does often pull together some kind of committee to write a report on something, but it is not a true audit nor do they make serious conclusions about that to do in the future. A really big one was the one about the accusation that Trump was in bed with the Russians and that the personal computer from Biden's kid was Russian misinformation. What happened to the committee's conclusion on both? What happened in the USA? Do you know of something that I do not know? Nothing!
If we can not learn from the past, you know what will happen. We will keep making the same mistakes. We need to change our thinking at all levels so that we can learn from the past and our actions in the past. Victimhood is an example of how many people avoid doing "Post Audits" on their own personal decisions. The problem is larger than you may have thought!!
