Great speech for the stupid voters in the USA. I say stupid because anyone who knows anything could see thru the points that he made. He wants to spend more and pay for it with promises that he will save the money in the future. This has been his style from the start. Remember, connect the dots. Obama wants to trash this country so that it will collapse and his strange group of friends can remake this country they way they want.
If Obama wants to help the economy, he should first do the things that do not cost anything. I'll list down a few so you know what I am talking about.
(1) Regulations
How about taking the restrictions off drilling in the Gulf? His action to freeze drilling has had a major negative impact on our economy. This point is crystal clear.
(2) Regulations
How about the attack on Boeing? It is clear that he is more concerned about "...having the backs..." of his union supporters.
(3) Regulations
Obama thru the EPA is attacking the coal industry while we still ship coal to China where they burn it. How is that? Kill jobs here and made energy more expensive. Is this a plan to trash our economy? You bet.
(4) Justice Department Attach
What about the Justice Department attack on states that want to help keep illegals from crossing the border. Or, how about the states who want to check workers to see if they are here legally like Georgia or Alabama? It would not cost a penny to call off the Obama goons. Why spend money if we have free things that we could do.
(5) Engineers
Isn't it interesting that we have gone down hill since 1986 in terms of engineer graduations while the number of kids going to college has increased? Why doesn't Obama just challenge parents and their kids to go into engineering rather than Political Science. It cost just as much to get a Political Science degree as it does an Engineering degree. Oh! Engineering is more difficult than Political Science, maybe that is why our dead beat kids take the easy route.
(6) Unions and Minimum Wage
Why didn't Obama propose a reduction in the minimum wage so that we could compete in the manufacture of cell phones here in the USA. Right now we make a total of "zero". Obama kept promising high paying jobs with good benefits. There is no such thing. Only personal merit can command high pay and good benefits. Our problem is that fewer and fewer of our people have enough merit to compete for these high paying jobs. We did have them right after WWII, but that was not because we were so skilled, it was because we were the only game in town. Get used to it.
(7) Homes Under Water
I don't know what the big deal is with homes under water. Every new car you buy is under water the day you drive it off the lot. People have to realize that they have been living in that home for a while and that must account for something. I think that people thought they could buy a house and get "free" rent in the process. We all know that there is no such thing as "free lunch" and it is the same for free rent.
Obama got a lot of other facts wrong too. Lincoln did not start the Republican party. The Republican party started at the little white school house in Ripon, Wis. Lincoln was just the first Presidential candidate who ran under the Republican party.
Obama confirmed that he was still in the corner of the unions. Teachers need more money so the can do a better job of teaching. Fact is that the test scores have gone down every year since about 1965. Further, kids who are home schooled score higher on tests than public school kids.
In 45 years of work and management in engineering and teaching for an additional 4 years, I have never had a single black engineer or engineering student. We are talking about a few thousand kids. Why is that? I have had a few Mexicans and Native Americans, but no blacks. Why didn't Obama put out a challenge to blacks to carry their own weight in the society and economy?
Medical did not get much attention, but Obama should have pointed out that we import 60% of our new doctors. Do you think that is a problem? What would it cost us if more of our kids went into medicine rather than Political Science? Nothing.
How about high school drop outs? Nationally it is 40%, but in the black community it is over 60%. Why didn't Obama call attention to this fact? It has to hurt the economy. In South Korea the graduation rate is 99+%. We are talking about doing things that don't cost a cent yet Obama wants to spend more. Connect the dots and wake up.
