It seems that many feel there is a big problem between "The Haves And The Have Nots". Get used to it because it is going to get worse. I think that I may have blogged on this point before, but the "times they are a changing". As I have pointed out the world is getting a lot more technical. This is not a new thing. It has been going on for millions of years. It started when the first cave man figured out how to build a fire. Those who could build fires thrived while those who could not died out. It was the same with tools. There were tool users and tool makers. The tool makers were on top and tool users were on the bottom. Since wild animals could not make or use tools, they were way down on the bottom and most of us humans were on top. Now why do I bring all this up? Because it is still happening right now. The only thing is that the tools are getting more complex.
When we were all hunters and gatherers, there was not too much difference between the "haves and the have nots". The rewards were based on physical human labor and as it turns out, there is not much difference in the physical abilities of humans. Did you notice that 90% of all people are between 5 feet and 6 feet? That is a very small range. Did you ever watch two carpenters hammer in a nail? If you time 10 carpenters, the difference in the times they take is less than 10%. If they are paid on the basis of the number of nails they drive per day, their pay will be within 10% of each other. Most would consider the 10 carpenters about "equal" and they would be. This is the way that it has been the world over for the past 1,000 years. Now things have changed and they are changing fast.
Now let's look at "mental" work compared to "physical" work. Take 10 people and have them drive a nail and then have them add up a list of 10 numbers. They will all be within 10% of each other when it comes to driving the nail, but when it comes to adding up the numbers, the slowest will take 10 times longer than the fastest one. Now why is this so significant? It is because of the technical trend that is sweeping the world. The "currency" of the future is not physical labor as it was in the past, it is mental. Because of the wide differences in mental abilities, the "Haves" are going to "have" a lot more and those who do not have the mental abilities are going to have proportionately much less. Those on the bottom may have more than they do now, but the ones on the top are going to be out of sight.
Sorry, but as I said, this trend started a long time ago and it is not going to stop. If people think that they can stop the clock by marching in the streets, I have bad news for you. The trend I am talking about is a "law of nature" than us humans can't change, no matter how much "faith" you have in Obama. Any attempt at wealth redistribution will, at best, slow down the process, but at the cost of making those at the bottom even poorer. As I have stated in the past, we can all be equal when we are all bankrupt at "zero".
If those on the bottom want to move up, there is really only one way and that is to work hard, finish high school and study the hard technical subjects rather than the bull shit classes. I think it may have been the first caveman who coined the phrase, "there is no free lunch" and it is as true today as it was on day one.
