This title tells it all The 2020 election is actually between Trump and the Swamp, not Biden and I will explain why.
In prior blogs, I pointed out that the Swamp actually runs most of what we call government. It is at all levels, but it is worst at the Federal level. Realize that 99.9% of what we call government is made up of people who were never elected. Only about 0.1% are actually elected. Further, those who are elected only server to the limit of their term while those in the Swamp are there for life.
I may have forgotten to point out that the Media is actually part of the Swamp. They were not elected and often serve for life with a continuing tight relationship with the governmental Swamp. It is not the elected officials who leak to the Media, it is the Swamp with whom the Media has had a working relationship for many years. Notice that the Media is actually part of the Swamp.
Next, we have the elected officials. There are two types of elected officials, those who see an elected position as a career and those who take time off from a career to serve in government. I think that you know the type. When our country was founded, we had people with real jobs or professions who took time out to serve in elected offices. Politics was a part time job, not a full time career as it is now.
Next comes how all of this fits together. You now have a partial understanding of the Swamp and the two kinds of elected officials, but exactly how do they fit together and operate? This is the interesting part. Further, this is not simply a case of whether they are Democrats or Republicans, it is, as I defined above, whether they are career politicians or not. If they are career politicians, they know that they can not win against the Swamp so the try to go along to get along. Representing those who elected them is in a far second place. For those who are not career politicians, the situation is much different. Most left their real careers to serve those who elected them and bring with them an attitude that with hard work they can accomplish something. They know that dealing with the Swamp is just a temporary thing. It is my opinion that many of those who see politics as a career have contempt for those who elected them. They see themselves as "winning" the office, like "winning" the lottery, not as being chose by those who elected them. In one speech by President Obama, he actually stated that he "won" the office not that he was elected or chosen. Many of the career politicians act like they "own" their office, not that they serve at the "will" of the people. Getting a little off here.
You might think that career politicians might know and understand the electorate better than a non career politicians and you would be right. Career politicians know that the public can be easily fooled by the combination of the government Swamp and the Media Swamp and thus side with the two Swamps as the best way to survive in their political "careers". What they do is to give flowery speeches and make hollow promises to their voters while turning the running of government over to the Swamp. When things do not go well for the voters, the career politician takes no blame, but points to some "boggy man" some place and the voters eat it up. They like the "style" of the politician and accept his excuse willingly.
The non-career politician, on the other hand, want to get things done for those who elected him and often oppose the actions of the un-elected Swamp. You know what happens next. In comes the Media Swamp with leaks from the government Swamp to attach the President. Isn't that exactly what we have seen happening? The combination of the government Swamp and the Media Swamp can sling more mud so fast that it is next to impossible for any non-career elected official to counter it. In a situation like this, style goes out the window. Isn't this what we now have?
Many in the Swamp have been there for years and think they are the most qualified to make decisions and openly confront their boss behind their backs. Isn't that, also, what we have? This often happens when there is some kind of change in direction. To change direction is for the Swamp to have to admit that they may have been wrong in the past. Who wants to admit they were wrong? See how it works?
The bottom line is that if you are voting for style, you might consider Biden because he will turn the running of government over to the Swamp. He will also only read speeches that have been written for him and tested by the Swamp. If you are less concerned about style, you want to vote for Trump who will represent you even if he has to go against the will of the Swamp. I think you can see that "Style" is vastly over rated!
