I just stumbled onto a new show on the National Geographic channel called "Doomsday Preppers". It is very interesting. The people on the show all think that the world is coming to an end as they know it. Not all have the same cause, but all think that they need to prepare so that they and their families can survive what ever it is. Most have considered this very well and seem to be doing the right things. They all have stores of food and water. Some enough for several years. The one common point that they all share is the fact that when it happens, most people will "not" be prepared and that those people will be desperate. So desperate, in fact, that they will try to rob and kill for the food stores that the Preppers have put away. For that reason the Preppers all have guns and means to protect themselves and their food. I have always thought that a person should have some kind of insurance in the form of food for emergencies. The Preppers just take it one step farther. Now, you might ask, "what does this have to do with Global Warming?" Well, it does.
Will a Doomsday ever come? Yes! The only real questions are How and When. The Preppers do not agree on how, but they do feel that it will come soon and that is why they are preparing now. The Global Warming people take a different approach. They know that it will be many years before Global Warming does any real damage and they want to try to "stop" it. The Preppers are not trying to stop the Doomsday, they are Prepping to deal with it. Preppers know that there are an infinite number of scenarios that could create a Doomsday and to try to stop them all would be useless. The problem is that the Global Warming people have not gotten the message and are only considering a single possibility when there are, in fact, many.
The Preppers are at least one step ahead of the Global Warming people in this respect. They are concerned about the survival of themselves and their children. The Global Warming people all know or should know that Global Warming is "not" going to affect their lives. They will all be dead from natural causes before there is any significant Global Warming to deal with. My family was in the Dust Bowl of the 1930's so I know a little about what it can be like if there is a major and prolonged change in the "weather". The people caught in the Dust Bowl adapted to the new conditions by moving to another area or changed the types of crops that they raised. One of the main things that happened is that the population density went "way" down and that is what will happen if we have serious "Global Warming".
Now, look at the Doomsday Prepper's strategy. They have stored food and guns. By the time their food runs out, most of the unprepared people will be dead from starvation so they will not have to be dealt with them on a long term basis. The population density will be greatly reduced so that they will be able to farm and become hunter gatherers and thus survive for a very long time. If they can not get thru the starvation period, however, they will not survive. Is this a good strategy for the Global Warming people? I think so. Rather than trying to save the world for people they don't know and who are "not" helping is stupid and you have to agree. They should not be trying to save the world. They should be trying to save themselves and their families. To do that, they need to do the types of things the Preppers are. They should be preparing themselves to protect their food, farms or energy from people who have not prepared or who are more badly affected by Global Warming. They need to be prepared to fight for their survival, even if that means killing competitors and taking their food, farms or energy. Why don't they think this way? That is the big question that I have after watching what the Doomsday Preppers are doing. Maybe the Global Warming people are suffering from "Spock".
No mater how bad Global Warming might be, some people will be able to survive some place here on Earth. Further, those good placed will be in high demand and that means the people who have the means to protect those places will survive and those who do not will die off. It is as simple as that and the Preppers all understand it. What the Global Warming people are doing is weakening us by wasting our resources on stupid regulations and preventing the production of more wealth. In the end, the wealthiest country or people will be the ones who survive and I want to be one of those. How about you?

If you want to see what global warming is going to be like, all you have to do is to look south at Mexico. The situation is so bad in Mexico, it is just like it will be if we ever have global warming. Mexico has too many people for their food supply. The place is over run with criminals. The death rate in Mexico is worse than in any war zone. What are the Mexicans doing? They are leaving Mexico and coming to the USA where they can find food and jobs. What the USA needs to do is exactly what the Doomsday Preppers are planning and that is to use their "guns" to protect their food and homes. What are we doing? Nothing.
PS--We are having a doomsday right now with immigrants who are trying to get away from a place where they can not survive "in Style". We are talking about places like the near east and Africa that are over populated or have a social conflict of some kind. It is like a doomsday how it is playing out and Obama and our liberal government are too stupid to see what is going on. At some place we are going to have to close the gates and kill anyone who tries to get in and steal the food from our children. Don't thing so? Think again with your eyes open for a change!!!
