I just watched a TV New cast where they were so proud of an individual who came from a poor family but who was able to graduate with a degree in Sociology. I think the degree was totally worthless.
As the news cast progressed they showed that the person was able to get a good paying job as a "Sociologist Teacher". If that is not totally stupid and worthless, I don't know what is. Think about that person purchasing an Apple computer and a pair of Nike shoes. What are they going to produce to earn "real" money to buy those products from China? It is true that China wants to build the Apple computers and the shores and sell them to the USA, but what are we making that China wants in exchange? Big question! They sure don't want a computer made in the USA or a pair of shoes.
The sociology scam is just what it is. It is no better than how to play "Hop Scotch". You can go to college get paid for by a student loans to learn how to do "Hop Scotch" and then teach the same worthless thing to others. It is like a circle jerk and you know it so why do we do it or allow it? China does want food and they can not grow enough. That is why they buy farm land here so they can grow the food they need here. Where does that leave our farmers? I guess they have to sell their farm produce to some other country and then take that money to buy computers and shoes from China. What if those other countries are so poor that they can not pay for the food? Well, our government will give them money to buy the food from one of our farmers. That is a great idea isn't it?
Think about it this way. China workers have a higher literacy rate than do the workers in the USA. The literacy rate in the USA is about 68% while it is close to 99% in China. The Chinese workers works harder than the USA workers. Doing the same job, it is my estimate that the Chinese workers produce at least 25% more than a USA worker. When you look at just these to facts, you have to ask yourself, "How can the USA worker expect to earn "more" than a Chinese worker?" Well we can't!
How about "tools"? Isn't that what separates us humans from animals? We were the ones who invented tools, but who now produces the tools? Look at the tools in your own home and tell me where they were made? How about the knives and forks in your kitchen drawer? How about your pots and pans? They were all made in China. Do you know anyone who uses a tool that is not made or available in China? I don't think so. When I was a kid, I noticed that most of my micrometers were made in Germany, but not anymore. For a while they were made in Japan, now 100% are made in China. If China makes the tools then how can we expect to have special tools that make us more productive than workers in China. No way!
Most of us know that work is getting more technical where you have to use your brain more. If that is the case, then is it also clear that with a population that ranks no better then 38th in math compared to the rest of the world how can we expect to compete? We can't. Look at our kids compared to current adult workers. How is their math and literacy? It is clearly worse. Many more kids today are on the honor roll due to grade inflation not because the are better students. Who are the kids who are first in the spelling bee? Are they your kids or kid from parents from India? I think you know the answer.
Is your kid majoring in Sociology? If so, you are a failure as a parent!
