Here are my ideas on the Package Bomb fiasco.
First, we need to identify the groups that may be responsible. Here is my list:
(1) Democrat supporter
(2) Republican supporter
(3)) Someone unrelated to either party
Next, we need to look at who would gain. My position is as follows.
(1) Democrats----------25%
(2) Republicans------ -25%
(3) Neither party----- 100%
Next, we need to look at how this was done;
Notice that the bombs were "not" well designed and none actually exploded. Who would profit by that? My feeling is that it would be "someone else" who just wanted to add fuel to the discontent fire in the USA. It is clear that they would not want to be in favor of either party. It is my position that the bombs were "not" sloppy. If they were sophisticated, it would point away from the two parties supporters and toward some sophisticated third party.
Here is my bottom line. It took someone who was very sophisticated to get the addresses of all the people who were sent bombs, so why were the bombs so bad? Doesn't add up does it? My final point is that our FBI will never find out who sent the bombs. This will leave the news media able to blame the Republican party which will continue the division within the USA. Did you ever hear the saying, "divide and conquer"? Think about who profits by division with in the USA? It is "neither" party.
Look at the misspelling. Anyone who could come up with name and address of all these people should be able to spell correctly. I think that the misspelling was intentional to point it to some kind of "nut" rather than some sophisticated third party.
Who are some of the third parties? You know some. They would profit by both the confusion and the "cost" to our government who is their enemy.
When I used to teach decision theory, one of the biggest errors made in decision making was to "not" have all the possible answers on the list. If any list does not include "non political party" then it is not complete.
PS--It looks like the found the guy. At this point, I am not sure that he supports the Republicans or if he is an independent. He may also not be the only one, What a mess when a country is not united. We are vulnerable to every nut who want to screw things up.
