Years ago when I lived in California, I was bored at the conversation at parties because it was all about "real estate". No one seemed to have a life, because all they talked about was "real estate". Because all they talked about was "real estate", it drove out any discuss about any other subject. Isn't that exactly what is happening on a national basis?
The news used to cover all kinds of significant subjects that we were interested in, but not any more. Now, all the news covers is "politics". When ever all the news focuses only on politics, it takes away the oxygen for any other news. When we used to listen too or watch the news, we found out what significant was happening all over the USA and the world. We have 50 states, but most of the news focuses only on Washington DC and the East and West coast. We never hear about what is happening in the "fly over states" do we? There are a lot of significant things happening in Oklahoma and Indiana, but when was the last time you heard any news about these states? Been a while hasn't it!
If you read your own local news paper or watch your local TV news, you will notice that most is about school sports or the weather, but little real significant news in your state. Notice that school sports get much more coverage than does what the schools were chartered to do. Isn't it to teach our kids how to deal with the world that they will soon face? Only a very small percentage will ever put on a football uniform after they graduate from high school, so why is so much "Oxygen" devoted to it?
Are you starting to see that we have been let down by our news media? In the cases where they appear to be covering political news, they use most of their "Oxygen" to report their personal opinions rather than the news that allows us to come to our own conclusions. What we end up with is a situation where we have to try to come up with our own "opinions" based on the "opinions" of others rather than the news or the facts. What ever happened to Jack Webb's, "Just the facts, Ma'm"?
I hope this wakes a few of you up and you see what the news media is up to. Further, I hope that you will search out facts rather than just opinions so that you can make your own opinions rather than try to make your opinion based on other's opinions. Think independently for a change!
