Rather than deal in "opinions" or "fuzzy feel good". how about looking at a few facts! That is what this blog is about.
To put some of this in perspective, how about looking at population density. If you are not familiar with the word "density", it is the number of people per acre, square mile or square kilometer. Do you feel that the USA is getting too crowded? Are there too many cars on our roads? Does it take you longer and longer to drive to work? Back in 1950 we had about 160 million people here in the USA. For us older people, that is our starting point bench mark. Today, we have about 330 million or over double our population in about 60 years. For the record, I feel that we have enough people and don't need any more. There was a time when we had so much unoccupied land that we were giving it away if you would "home stead" it. Today, that same 160 acres would be worth over $2 million dollars. Given these facts, you have to admit that this is a very "different" time and that we should think more about the future than the past when we come up with our opinions about immigration.
Check out this simple fact about Central America and El Salvador. Due to over breeding, today El Salvador has 818 people per square kilometer and can not produce enough food to feed their people. Further, they do not produce enough money from foreign trade to pay for the food that they have to import. Remittances by El Salvadorans who are working in the USA and sending money back to El Salvador is their biggest source of income. Sad situation isn't it? The USA has 86 people per square kilometer and we still have more people than we need! If we had as many people per square kilometer as El Salvador, out population would be 3.1 billion people. Want to read than number again? It is 3,100,000,000!
If you feel that the purpose of our government is to protect us and provide an economic system that optimizes the median family income and our quality of life, then you have to see that more immigration is totally against that objective. In the end, if this keeps up, the USA will look like the same countries where these millions of immigrants came from. Are you starting to get the message? If not, go find your own facts and stop listening to "fuzzy feel good" opinions from the media and liberals.
PS--What we need to practice is some "tough love" toward these immigrants. How else are we going to help countries like El Salvador control their population? Allowing them to abandon the problem that they created is not the solution and you know it. Good parents often have to give their children "tough love" get them to be responsible for their conduct. Rewarding bad conduct by El Salvadorans is not the solution.
