Did you know that the USA is like a "condo". Here is why!
It seems to me like a lot of our citizens do not understand exactly what the USA is. Many think that just because they are citizens that they own the USA and can do with it what ever they want. That is just not the case and here is why.
Think of the USA as a "condo" where you own just one apartment. Since the USA has gottens urbanized, you would think that most citizens would know this, but they don't. In the case of the "condo", you own your own apartment, but that is all. Because your apartment is part of a much larger building where the other apartments are owned by others, you are subject to the rules of the "owner's association". As a member, you have to conduct yourself within the rules of the "owner's association". That means you may not be able to keep chickens in your apartment unless the rules of the "owner's association permits it.
In the case of the USA, you are like an apartment owner who has to live by the rules of the state, which is equivalent to the owner's association. As a member of the state, you can "vote" to change any of the rules, but if you are out voted, the rules don't change. Take the example of you wanting to allow immigrants into the USA without them going thru the legal channels because you feel sorry for them or because your own parents were immigrants. The rules of the state say that immigrants may not enter other than by the legal channels and you have no authority of change that.
If a person does not follow the rules of the condo owner's association, the association has the authority to evict that person. How is that any different from the state arresting and punishing a person who aids in the illegal immigration of persons they feel sorry for? It isn't. The only reason that I can see why citizens try to avoid the law is that they are basically dishonest and do not care about the will of the majority of the citizens or the rue of law. They seem to understand this relationship in the case of the condo, but not when it comes to the USA.
