This blog is going to point out how many of the items on the liberal addenda are totally backwards. Most have a "good" objective, but they all turn out to do just the opposite of what they wanted.
Start with the school lunch program. When this was started, many families were so poor that not only could they not properly feed their family, they did not have the food to pack their child a lunch. That is all changed and now the government gives food or food stamps to anyone who does not have enough food. Most of the people who are on food stamps are their because the are socially irresponsible decisions and are there by their own hand. They have children and palm them off on the school system to feed and educate. Liberals go along with this with things like the school lunch program. What we should do is require that the parents of the children "pack" their child's lunch like most responsible parents did for over 100 years. If the parent did not "pack" the lunch per simple specifications, they should be arrested for child neglect and put in jail. Rather than do more things for the parents, we should be looking for way to make parents do more for their kids and be better parents. As we let parents pass the buck for their responsibility, the more irresponsible they are going to become. You only have to took at the Black community to see that this is true.
I blogged on how bad of an investment Head Start is, but it is worse than that. Rather than requiring the parents to potty train their child and teach them simple manners and responsibility, we let these irresponsible parents pass the child over to a "government" school. The thought is that the school can do better. It can do better than an irresponsible parent, but not as good as a responsible parent. That means we should be working on ways to make the parents more responsible, not less. I think that the school should give the parent inexpensive work books that they would use to teach their child until they were ready for about the "second" grade. That is right!! If a parent does not work with the work books to teach their child, we should consider it child neglect and arrest them.
I may sound radical calling for parents to be arrested for child neglect, but when parents beat their kids and brake bones, we don't have a problem arresting them. What they have done is to damage the child so that they could become a ward of the state, because they can not work or turn to crime and have to be placed in jail. Look at the Black community and how many drop out of high school or end up in jail. Either way, they are wards of the state. That means we taxpayers have to support them. What we need is a system where parents prepare their children to be able to support themselves and a little extra for taxes. If parents are not doing that, they should be arrested for neglect. Isn't a parents job to prepare their children to function in the world and not be a burden to society?
One of the biggest problems in the Black community that accounts for 100% of the injuries to Blacks by the police is the fact that so many Blacks tend to resist arrest. If any child under the age of 18 resists arrest, the parents should also be arrested because they did not teach their child to cooperate with the police and to not resist arrest. This is a real simple concept and we have to get the message across that resisting arrest will not be tolerated. What US Department of Justice is going to find when they look into Baltimore and the way police have treated Blacks compared to Whites, is that Blacks are injured much more than Whites when being arrested. They will draw the wrong conclusion that there is some thing wrong with the police when the problem is that Blacks resist arrest and thus harsher measures are needed to arrest them. You know that this is how the investigation is going to come it!
We all know that no women can have a child without a father, or don't we? Rather than always looking at the poor child, we should be tracking down the fathers. We should require a DNA test on all children born "out of wedlock" so that we can arrest the father. We need some kind of regulations on having children so that they are not wards of the state from the day of their birth to the day they die. People who have children they can not care for are stealing from all of us tax payers and are damaging their child in the process. I thought that we had laws protecting children and that mean from their parents. Taking care of the child is the right thing to do, but what about the irresponsible parent? We need to take steps to deal with them and it can not be some words only thing.
You get the idea. I could go on and on, but I think that you can find other areas where liberals are doing exactly this same kind of wrong thing.
PS---What do you think of the government subsidizing student loans? If you just focus on the positive aspects and not on the negative aspects of the student loan programs, you could easily support it. Did you know that the student loan "bubble" is bigger than the house crash a few years ago? When will we recognize that at least half of the trillion dollars out standing in the student loan program are under water? It will not be like physical homes that have some salvage value. Many of the student loans have "zero" salvage value. They are like yesterday's T-Bone steak.
