Look at what is happening on our southern border. More and more countries are trying to solve their over breading problems by immigrating to the USA. If anything was more predictable, I don't know what it is. Look at Easter Island and Haiti, both got very over populated and took different approaches to solve their problem. In the case of Easter Island, the population died off until the island could support the much smaller population. In the case of Haiti they shipped their over population to the USA. Go to Florida or the Bahamas and you will see all kinds of people from Haiti who have moved their problem here. What we have to wake up to is the fact that shipping every countries over population here is not a solution. The affect is to make the quality of life for us, our kids and our grand kids much worse. I don't think that any of those soldiers who fought in the revolutionary war or the war of 1812, the Civil war, the First World War or the Second World War were risking their lives for people from Haiti or any other foreign country.
If a person is a "one mover" they see letting people from over populated countries come here as a solution, but it only makes the problem worse. The solution is for all these countries to get their populations into balance with what they can support. Each country has to do this all by themselves. If you have a bunch of dogs or cats that breed freely, you know that it only takes time before you would be over run with dogs or cats. Most cities have laws for animals against exactly for this problem.
If we save one person today by letting them immigrate to the USA, we will be killing many more in the future as the original problem of over population gets worse. That is a fact. I know that we all are concerned about human life, but to do something that makes the problem worse is not responsible.
Out southern border problem is just the tip of the iceberg in regards to over population and we all know it, but too many bury their heads in the sand and do not admit to the reality of the problem. Global warming, even if it were a fact, is small potatoes compared to population growth. I know that it is difficult medicine to take to solve the problem, but not to admit there is a problem only makes the problem that much worse.
How many countries in the world can feed their population without outside help? What is the quality of life in those countries who have over population? What countries have the highest population growth rates? What is the average age of populations of countries of the world?
If you don't know the answers to the above question, you don't have your eyes open and are not responsible humans.
