Just a few comments on the loss of two years of Emails by the IRS.
The first point is that those emails are the property of us tax payers. They are not the property of the hired person at the IRS who wrote them. All work content of IRS employees is also the property of us tax payers. No employee has the right to destroy the property that us tax payers paid for. From now on when you hear some one talking about the emails, remember that those emails belong to us.
The other point is that the IRS destroyed two years worth of emails. That means that they had not backed up their email files in "two" years. I was talking to my 11 year old grandson and he told me that he backs up his computer files every week so if he lost his computer, he would only lose "one" week of emails. Even if he did not back up his emails, they would be on the "cloud" because he uses his smart phone to write and send emails. Why didn't anyone check out the smart phones?
As I understand the government is recording all kinds of data on us tax payers, so why not on the IRS? Don't their emails travel over the internet like all of our emails?
