I have been wondering exactly how the Green Movement ever caught on. This blog will investigate why.
For the life of me, I can not understand how the Green Movement ever caught on and has been accepted by so may people. I am an Engineer and technical person and I have looked at the whole concept and do not understand how so many people who have "normal" intelligence could fall for such a flimsy argument. I have talked to a lot of people and now I am starting to see where and why this whole business may have "stuck" with so many.
Here are a few things from the Green Movement. The world is going to end. Look at that statement in the context of "digital" thinking and "analog" thinking. In digital thinking it is easy to accept "right" and "wrong" along with single specific events like the "end" of the world. Even when the dinosaurs died off, they did not all die in one day. It took a long time for them to die. Look also at Noah and his arch. He had time to build that arch as the flood got higher and higher. If the flood came in a very short period of time, he would not have had time to collect all the materials and build the arch nor enough time to gather up all the animals from around the world.. Does this make you wonder how so many people could buy in to the world ending in just a few years when we know that animals like humans have been here for millions of years?
There has to be something about human nature that allows so many of us to think in the digital way that this whole green movement has been sold on.. The only thing that I know that is similar to the green argument is religion. I pointed out in a prior blog that humans naturally take to the idea of religion due to their digital, right and wrong thinking. The big difference between religion and the green movement is that out at infinity there is a payoff and that is going to "heaven". Would you want to go there? I am not sure that I would. So what is the payoff of the green movement? Why don't we have a debate on that point?
Look at the world now. We know it is analog because there are places where the quality of life is good and places where it is very bad. Notice that people now live on every continent, even Antarctica. If the ideas behind the green movement are true, there are many places that will end up much worse than they are today while some that are bad now will become better. How does the green movement account for that? Look at the thermal mass of the Earth compared to a large pot of water on your stove. It takes a lot longer to heat up a large pot than a small pot. It is the same with the Earth. The Earth is bigger than any other thing that humans have ever had to deal with. I live near Lake Superior and it is often well below zero for months in the winter and in many winters Lake Superior does not freeze over. Why is that? Because it is such a large and massive lake and takes a long time to heat and cool..
I don't know how familiar you are with the Sahara Desert, but it has been growing for the last several thousand years, even before oil was discovered or the first car ever built. Why was that? Before we all jump on global warming and the green movement, may be we should try explaining some things that we know have already happened? If we can't to that, how well do you think we can predict the future?
We know that the number of humans now Earth has been accelerating in the past few hundred years and that there are places now that are clearly over crowded. Do you know the history of Ireland and why so many people from Ireland immigrated to the USA? Was it the potato famine? That was the cause at the end of the parade, but how did the parade ever start in the first place? That would really be the cause. I know that most of you do not know, so I will save you the time. It was in fact the "potato". It was not because that the potato got a disease. It was because Ireland got the potato in the first place. Ireland was starving before the potato got there so their population stayed small. When they got the potato the population boomed and when the potato failed many more started to starve. That was when many died and other immigrated to the USA.
The growth of population is an analog process that takes place over time and if we really have serious global warming, they will die off over time. It will not be a single event or end. Did you ever hear of a "famine"? They have happened through out history and it looks like our over population may cause another one, but it will not be due to global warming. It will not be a digital event as predicted in the bible. Do the ends justify the mans when it comes to global warming or the green movement? Look at places like Guatemala that has a population average age of 20. Look at El Salvador with over 900 people per square mile. They have a problem but it is of their own making and so do not expect me who lives in a county with 17 people per square mile to fill sorry for them or to punish my family to help save them from themselves. .
