Three dimensional crime is a totally different way to look at crime and the police. I will explain in this blog.
Most people look at things digitally. That means that they think in terms of "yes" and "no" or "right" and "wrong". The world is actually "analog" which means that there is no exactly right or wrong, but degrees of each. If one thinks digitally, then a person will never understand or solve any really serious problem. In the case of crime, we need to think of that in analog terms and here is how I look at crime.
First off, let's look at the type of crime. We all know that there are different kinds or types of crimes. It is not digital or just one type of crime. Think of a graph where crime degree is along the :X" axis from minor to very worst. I think we can all handle that. Next look at the number of crimes along that "X" axis. That would be a line up on the "Y" axis/ The typical graph would show a line that starts high near zero axis and then goes down as it goes out to the most serious crimes. To make this graph comparable to those for other cities. the numbers should be normalized for the size of the city. The final axis should be the repeat offenders in the city and plotted on the "Z" axis.
Now we have what we need to understand crime in a community or city. With this we can then determine a strategy to reduce crime and to monitor progress. Think of a city that has a high number of minor crimes and a high rate of repeat criminals in the same severity zone? This simple graph would show that you would need to give more "pain" to those offenders. If you look at the police, they need to arrest a higher percentage of these people and judges need to give them higher bail and stiffer penalties. See how ti works?
I could have added the time it takes from the time the crime is committed to the time they are in jail and I think you would see the p4oblen better with out current system. ,By just watching the news, I can see many cities in the USA which are totally out of control when it comes to cont4ollint crime,
