We use correlationships all the time, but most of us don't even know it. This blog will dig into this very important area.
Think of the old caveman. If he did not use correlation in his day to day activities, we would not be here today. He used correlation to know where to find food which he needed for survival. If he noticed that the apple tree only had ripe fruit in the fall of the year, why would he go out looking for apples to eat in the spring? The caveman knew how to use correlations, but it is now looked down on. Why is that?
If you watch TV News, you will see that by far the most murders and crimes were being committed by Blacks even though they are a small percentage of the population. Knowing that, why don't we admit that the Black community has a problem? It is not "woke" to even think about the fact that Blacks are committing most of the crimes.
Look at our military and see if correlations apply. Check out a little history. Back in the 1700 France was one of biggest military powers and were also the leader in math. Now look at Germany. In the late 1800's they were the technical power and a leader in math as well as military equipment. How about Russia? In the early 1900th century they were the leaders in math and wrote most of the math books used here in the USA colleges and universities. Now it has switched to China. China is the math and technology leader.
If that is all true, then how did the USA invent the atomic bomb? It was not by science people who were born or educated in the USA. Remember Einstein? Where did he come from? Not from a USA school or college. Are you starting to see the picture and the correlation with math? In the case of all those countries, their kids graduated from their schools, but not in the USA.
We did have a little bump in technical education after Russia launched Sputnik in the late 1950's, but that was short lived. Back in 1960 our colleges and universities had more math students than they have today even though our population has more than doubled. We spend far more on education today than we did back in the 1960's but have lost ground compared to most of the world. I think that we rank no better than 45th in math compare to the rest of the world. Note that the military has correlated with math scores for the past 500 years, so why do we feel that things might change?
One other way to look at this is that some correlations are "leading indicators". That means some action precedes the impact of the event. You don't have a big warm bond fire until after you gather wood and start a small fire that grows later. I hope this blog has not been confusing. Now, correlation does not guarantee a true cause and effect, but most times it does. You can test this concept with a "double blind" test and we often have that. When the government spends more money than they have on worthless activities, it normally causes an inflation of our money. That is when the "invisible hand steps in and adjusts the value of our money to compensate for the unwise expenditure by our government. That is how it works.
When you see that cities that have liberal mayors and a very high percentage of Blacks also have more crime, I think that you can trust the correlation. If so why don't you speak up? Are you coward by the woke people with their loud mouths? Get a back bone and trust the obvious correlations.
