I just watched Senator Cary's news conference as the new Green Czar and was not impressed. Here is why.
Cary claimed that the USA needed to do "more" to prevent further global warming even if the USA is now in a crisis with the Covid-19 pandemic. He was much less concerned about jobs, because he feels that those who are put out of work my Biden's executive orders can find new jobs in the renewable energy industry. Cary does not seem to understand that the only reason that we have a renewable energy system is that it is subsidized with the taxpayer's money. He does not understand that when you pass a law that 10% of the electricity that the power company can sell to you has to be from some renewable source. That is not free capitalism, it is no different than a direct gift of your tax money to those who have built the renewable energy systems. This is the same technique that is frequently used by the government to get around giving money directly to these kinds of uneconomical project.
Another interesting thing is that there were no questions from the press about immigrants coming into the USA and increasing pollution. Remember, the more people, the more pollution and the more pollution the more Global Warming. People think that renewable energy is free because the Sun and the wind are free, but the system to collect that energy cost more than the value of that energy. Surprise!
Rather than use the word "free money", they say "invest". When the government invests in anything, the only reason that they do is that no citizen with their own money would ever make that investment. Does that tell you some thing about the quality of our government's decisions? It should. Most of us don't realize that the main reason for the increase in the cost of our electricity is due to government mandates.
When asked about China and India and their level of pollution, Cary side stepped the question with more political BS. He is going to deal with China and India just like he dealt with Iran. He will kiss their ring and hope that they will clean up their act. What are the chances of that working? Just like his deal with Iran worked.
Cary also brought up the names of some hurricanes from a few years back and seemed to claim that they were caused by global warming or made more damaging due to global warming. It sounds like the typical sales pitch from an insurance salesman where if you only had his insurance you would not have been out all that money. Like the insurance salesman, they never point out that when what all of his customers paid in is added up, it is much more than the insurance company paid out. It is the same with global warming. It might help a few, but it is a bad deal in total. Cary forgot about how the government sells insurance for people who build homes in flood zones. Notice that only the government will sell this kind of stupid ass insurance.
I guess that I am just sad for my fellow citizens who fall for this kind of BS from politicians who are really not that good of salesmen. It does not speak to the politician as much as the ignorance of our citizens who sadly have the right to vote!
Cary made a big deal about electric cars and how popular they are and, how many good paying jobs they have created while saving the environment.. He failed to point out where the electricity comes from to power those cars. I can tell you that it does not come from his back yard. I know a few people who drive electric or hybrid cars and all are liberals to the man. Why is that? It has to be clear that only liberals are the real "do-gooders" Us conservatives who make decisions based on simple economics are just not up to date with what is cool.
