Exactly where did this business about a six foot separation come from? I think it was one of the clowns who pass for "medical experts". You would think that it must have been Moses who carved the eleventh commandment on a stone tablet. If you have a brain, the claim is that you are safe if you sit 6 feet away from an infected person. What if you are in a car, bus or train? God help us if we ever sat next to a person on an airplane. Does your car have an air sterilizer? How about your house? How about taking a leak in a public bathroom? You would be better off dropping your drawers out in the bushes.
Look at California and what they are doing with their beaches. They feel that it is OK if you stay at least 6 feet apart. Did you know that in Europe they require you to stay 2 meters apart? That is about 6.4 inches grater than here in the USA. Who is right? On the beach, we have the Sun shining down and killing all the virus, so what is happening back in the Bar? I don;t think they have any Sun killing the virus in there.
There are all kinds of plans now going into effect so that business can open up again. Restaurants are having to change their arrangements so that tables can be set at least 6 feet apart. This rule will make 90% of restaurants go out of business and what will it actually save? Here is another way to look at it. Let's say that we have a person who eats out at least 5 times a week and another person who eats out one time a month. Further, we know that with all these rules you are not 100% safe. For the record, let's say that the chances of getting infected is 1/1000 each time you eat out. Now, what are the chances of either of these two people above being infected?
For the person who eats out 5 times a week, after just one month their chances of being infected is 6.8% while the person who only eats out once per month is 0.1%. That is 68 times more likely for the first person to get infected. Why aren't these medical experts concerned about the life of the first person?
I can tell you the person who is on the beach and sitting next to another person is 100 times safer than the person who is in the restaurant or bar following the same medical expert's guide lines. That is how sick all this is. I should not just blame the medical experts and the politicians. I should blame the average voter who elected these people and who follow and believe what they say.
We would be better served if these medical experts would demand that the USA get their obesity down from about 35% to less than 5%. We have the fattest young people, by far than any other country in the world and that is what our future will look like It is some kind of death wish and we know it. Covid-19 is not the most serious problem, it is only exposing what is our most serious problem!
