According to the Democrats, President Trump risked our national security when he delayed giving the Ukraine the approved foreign aid money. This blog will explore the truth.
Remember that the Obama administration gave the Ukraine only MRE's when they were actually fighting the Russians. What President Trump did was to delay the foreign aid until he was sure that the new Ukraine president would fight their governmental corruption. That would seem the least one would expect from a "responsible" President.
Was our national security put at risk due to President Trump's action? No! Here is why. The Ukraine purchases many of its needed weapons from European countries. We know that. These weapons are not purchased with "cash". They are purchased on normal contracts on credit and paid for under the terms of those contracts. Anyone who has ever made a significant purchase knows how this all works. The thing that the supplier needs to know and be sure of is whether the purchaser has the means to pay for the material. That means the purchaser has to be credit worthy. As soon as it was posted in the news papers that the USA government had approved the foreign aid to the Ukraine, they had the necessary credit standing.
Given the credit rating, the Ukraine could go out and buy or commit to buy any military goods that they needed. It has to be clear that military purchases of the size that could affect their war with Russia could not be transacted in as little time as one month and thus their credit rating was more critical than the actual "cash" in their bank. Notice that the new President of the Ukraine was not concerned about the exact date that the money was transferred since, his credit was good enough to purchase the needed military supplies as soon as the USA government approved the foreign aid.
Now, ask yourself, "How did President Trump's actions risk our national security?" The clear answer is that they did not risk our national security nor that of the Ukraine! What is this impeachment all about then?
