I don't know if Gov. Kasich has a full deck when he still claims that he can't support Trump. That is what this blog is all about.
A little history first. Back in the beginning when Trump first decided to run for President, all of the other candidates were concerned about Trump's loyalty to the Republican Party. As a result, they demanded that Trump not run as a third party and that he pledge to support the candidate elected by the Republican Party. Trump as well as all the others accepted this pledge. With me so far?
Now, after the fact, Kasich is going back on his word to support the Republican Party candidate for President. The question that ask is, "Can Kasich be trusted and is his word good?" It does not sound like it to me. How about you? It gets better.
Kasich was just asked during an interview on TV is he could now support Trump and he responded that, "It does not look good". I used to teach Decision Theory at a major university and know a little about decision making. Kasich seems to have a serious problem with decision making and how to structure a decision making situation. He could not have passed one of my classes with his current mind set and here is why. In this situation, you have "three" possible choices.
(1) Vote for Clinton
(2) Vote for Trump
(3) Don't vote at all
Next, he must have some kind of objective or concern for the future of the country and his children and I would assume that he would want all to be better off socially and economically.
Now let's see what choice would "best" satisfy the above. It is clear that only (2), a vote for Trump would help his objective, so why is he holding out? I think that Kasich is a lot like a lot of people in that he believes in "magic". That is, he has his mind set on this magical White Knight who would be the perfect President and he is holding out that a magical person like that will appear at the last moment so he can vote for him. Sorry! A person with a brain has to know that the list of alternatives can not include a "magical" alternative. I know that you run into this type of person all the time, but normally, they are younger than 10 years old.
